Doom 4 May Not Be Called Doom 4

While id has remained rather tight-lipped about Doom 4, designer Tim Willits has suggested that the shooter sequel won't be known as Doom 4 when it eventually hits.

Though still clearly labeled Doom, the game will sport a subtitle instead of a numeral, Willits informed Big Download.

However, id CEO Todd Hollenshead claims that a final judgment has yet to be made in the numeral versus subtitle debate. "We haven't made the decision about that yet," he told Kotaku. "There is probably a let's not make a numeral game and some say we should make it one."

Willits further noted that Doom 4 will not be a direct sequel to Doom 3, as Doom 3 reimagined the storyline of the original Doom, but refused to offer any additional details.

Rage Screenshots Arrive

Nearly a year after the title's unveiling, id Software today released the first official screenshots from its post-apocalyptic open-world shooter Rage (PC, PS3, 360, Mac).

Slated to arrive "when it's fun and when it's done", the project is facing storage and royalty issues on Xbox 360, which could make that version look worse than others.

Prince of Persia Movie Delayed Until 2010

The release date for the Disney-produced live-action feature film adaptation of Prince of Persia has been pushed back until 2010, ComingSoon.net reports.

The movie is currently slated to hit theaters on May 28, 2010, just in time for Memorial Day. Other cinematic releases around that time include Dreamwork's Shrek Goes Fourth and Marvel's Thor.

According to the site, Prince of Persia's previous June 19, 2009 release date would have placed it in close proximity to the next Michael Bay-directed Transformers sequel, Revenge of the Fallen.

Loosely based on the 2003 Prince of Persia game The Sands of Time, the Jake Gyllenhaal and Alfred Molina-starring film was written by series creator Jordan Mechner, with Mike Newell (Pushing Tin, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) directing ...

Saints Row 2 Movie Features Tera Patrick

We've already seen Gary Busey pimping Saints Row 2, now it's up to porn star Tera Patrick to do the same. THQ recently announced that Patrick would be a "special producer" on the game. [video]12646[/video] Shackvideo users can use the HD Stream.

Volition's Saints Row 2 will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 October 14, with a PC release following some time after that.
