Konami Announces 'Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights' for 3DS

Konami is jumping aboard the S.S. 3DS with the announcement of Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights. The puzzle adventure game revolves around an eccentric scholar and his perky sidekick as they explore 19th century Europe to solve mysteries.

Players will guide Lautrec through Paris and solve logic puzzles and riddles. The game promises "3D solutions" like viewing objects from various angles, making us wonder how it will deal with the ability to turn the 3D off. Lautrec and Sophie will also encounter "rival professors" getting in the way ...

Activision's back catalog continues to land safely into in DRM-free arms of those rapscallions at Good Old Games, announcing the new arrival of yet another classic RTS title.

Dark Reign 2, from the now defunct Pandemic Studios, is available for $5.99 on GOG.com. Running on a "full 3D engine," Dark Reign 2 continues the adventures of the JDA and Sprawlers soldiers and features "intense action, diverse missions and fairly demanding opponent's AI."

Report: Sony Begins Banning PS3 Jailbreak Users [Updated]

[Update 14:45] A Sony spokesperson confirmed to Shacknews that the PSN bans are both permanent and worldwide. Users can, however, still play games offline.

[Original Story] Yesterday, Sony issued a warning to anyone who's used the well-publicized PlayStation 3 hacks. The message was clear: get rid of the offending hacks now, or face PlayStation Network bans. Now CVG reports that PSN bans have already begun. Accounts identified as using the jailbreak software reportedly received the following e-mail:

A circumvention device and/or unauthorized or pirated software currently resides on your PlayStation(R)3 system. Immediately cease use and remove all circumvention devices and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from your PlayStation(R)3 system. Failure to do so will...

Rage Trailer Shows Great Views and Giant Mutants

The wonders and horrors of Rage's post-apocalyptic wasteland are on show in a new trailer for id Software's shooter/racer. Accompanying it is a new tune by Mark Lanegan, Queens of the Stone Age veteran and singer of lovely duets with Isobel Campbell.

The trailer shows gameplay snippets of a wide range of Rage's features, from friendly NPC towns and craftable gadgets to violent racing and giant, towering mutants.

Headed to PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Rage is apparently still on course to hit the September 13 release date announced at QuakeCon last year. It'll be published by id's fellow ZeniMax subsidiary Bethesda Softworks.
